SANTA BARBARA TRIO TO PERFORM UNIQUE CONCERT IN FALLBROOK.
FALLBROOK CA. – The Santa Barbara Trio will make its debut appearance in Fallbrook on Sunday, September 24 at the Mission Theater. Presented by Fallbrook Music Society, the trio will offer the audience an engaging program with works ranging from classical composers such as Tchaikovsky to an adaptation of Lord of the Rings for trio.
Santa Barbara Trio was created by internationally recognized pianist Jacopo Giacopuzzi. No stranger to the Fallbrook stage, Jacopo has performed in previous dual piano concertos as Solo Due with famed pianist Konstantin Soukovetski. The Santa Barbara Trio brings a high level of perfection and expression to the perfect combination of instruments: pianist Jacopo, cellist Katrina Agate and violinist Tony Navarro. “This group has received enormous praise for its performances, and strives to engage, exchange and connect with audiences, says Bob Freaney, President of Fallbrook Music Society.” “They are truly outstanding musicians, displaying consummate artistry and technical finesse,” he added.
As a new feature for all concertgoers, everyone in attendance will be invited to remain after the performance for a “Meet the Musicians” Q&A session. This informal post-concert get together will be an opportunity to have an in-depth personal chat with the artists.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Mr. Giacopuzzi has performed recitals at major festivals, venues and concert halls throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan. He is a winner of 14 international competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Ibiza, Italy, the International Liszt Competition in Los Angeles, and the Beverly Hills National Auditions. He has taught at the Conservatory of Verona, Italy, worked as a collaborative pianist at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, has served on several competition juries and has given presentations and masterclasses throughout the United States.
Santa Barbara native Tony Navarro has studied violin for over 25 years. He has a master’s degree in Violin Performance from the University of California Santa Barbara where he also served as Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra and was a member of the prestigious Young Artists String Quartet.
Cellist Katrina Agate began studying cello at the age of 9. Ms. Agate is a graduate of University of California Santa Barbara where she was a recipient of the UC Regents Scholarship as well as Outstanding Graduating Senior in the music department. She has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Music and completed a master’s degree in electrical engineering from UCLA. Since completing her degrees, she continues to perform while working full-time as an engineer.
Tickets for this performance are free for all concertgoers, and no reservations are required. Donations are always welcome to help support Fallbrook Music Society’s tradition of delivering excellence in live music performances to Fallbrook and its surrounding communities. The concert will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Fallbrook’s historic Mission Theater, 231 N. Main Avenue. For more information: www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org.
